System Transformation Initiative

Virginia is currently undertaking the System Transformation Initiative for individuals with mental retardation, developmental disabilities, or mental illness.

It is designed to enhance community-based care for these citizens and at the same time make some overdue investments in the infrastructure of state facilities. The initiative represents the opportunity for a historic step forward for Virginia.
